Wystawa Elin Drougge Zakłócanie (w języku norweskim ‘en slags uro’) w Galerii Dolnej zamyka realizowany przez Bunkier Sztuki przy współpracy z Grünerløkka Lufthavn roczny projekt „Ekonomia utraty, Joanna Pawlik i Elin Drougge”. Prace powstały specjalnie na tę wystawę, a ich realizację poprzedził pobyt studyjny artystki w Krakowie. Jest to pierwsza prezentacja jej twórczości w Polsce.

Elin Drougge jest rzeźbiarką realizującą instalacje przestrzenne nawiązujące do struktur rzeczywistości, natury będącej opanowaną i pokonaną przez kulturę. Elin jest artystką o niezwykle bogatej i żywej, a równocześnie zdyscyplinowanej wyobraźni – tworzy intrygujące i nieco surrealistyczne prace, których różne elementy (takie jak modele domów, meble, kwiaty, gałązki, a także przedmioty z tworzyw sztucznych oraz innych materiałów) wchodzą w interakcje z otaczającą je przestrzenią i nabierają metaforycznego charakteru. Rzeźby realizowane są z dużą dbałością o szczegół co każdej nich nadaje specyficzny klimat. Są to prace poetyckie, niemal baśniowe – subtelne i delikatne lecz równocześnie pełne grozy, smutku i wewnętrznego napięcia. Balansują pomiędzy skrajnymi emocjami i uczuciami. Jej prace mogą być postrzegane jako wyraz niepokoju i alienacji, nie są jednak pozbawione poczucia humoru. Elin Drougge traktuje własną twórczość jako przestrzeń umożliwiającą wyrażanie emocji, leków, cierpienia, sygnalizującą istnienie mrocznej tajemnicy. Sztuka jest dla niej swoistą terapią, służącą oswajaniu rzeczywistości.

Elin Drougge (1961). Ukończyła National College of Art and Design w Oslo, absolwentka belgijskiej The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp (1987-1988) oraz norweskiej National Academy of Art Sculpture (1988-1991). Autorka wielu projektów oraz wystaw indywidualnych (m.in.: Hole Artcenter, Oslo 2007, DTK-project Gallery, Bærum 2006, Gallery III, Oslo 2001), brała także udział także w wielu wystawach zbiorowych i festiwalach. Wielokrotna laureatka Compensation Fund Scholarship oraz Government Exhibition Scholarship. Jej prace znajdują się w wielu kolekcjach m.in. The Olimpic Game Collection, Norwegian Cultural Council oraz Akershus Art Centre (Lillestrøm). Mieszka i pracuje w Heggedal, Norwegia.

Elin Drougge’s exhibition A Kind of Disturbance (‘en slags uro’ in Norwegian) in the Dolna Gallery is the final part of the year-long project Economy of Loss, Joanna Pawlik and Elin Drougge, carried out by Bunkier Sztuki working together with Grünerlokka Lufthavn. The works were purpose-made for this exhibition and their creation was preceded by the artist’s working residence in Kraków. This is the first time that Elin Drougge has presented her work in Poland.

Elin Drougge is a sculptor who produces spatial installations which allude to real structures and have as their theme nature’s domination by and subjugation to culture. Drougge’s imagination is at the same time incredibly fertile and very disciplined. The artist creates intriguing, somewhat surreal works, various elements of which (be they house models, furniture, flowers, twigs or objects made from plastic or other materials) enter interactions with the space surrounding them and acquire metaphorical meaning. The sculptures are made with great attention to detail. As a result, they acquire a distinctive ambiance. These are poetic works, almost fairytale-like – subtle and delicate, yet full of terror, sorrow and inner tension. They are poised between extreme emotions and impressions. Drougge’s works can be perceived as an expression of disquiet and alienation. However, they are not devoid of a sense of humour. Elin Drougge treats her own creative work as a forum to express emotions such as fears and suffering, which signal the existence of a murky secret. Art, for her, is a sui generis therapy, which the artist uses to tame reality.

Graduate of the National College of Art and Design in Oslo, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (1987-1988) and the Norwegian National Academy of Art Sculpture (1988-1991). Author of many projects and individual exhibitions (such as: Hole artcenter, Oslo 2007, DTK – project gallery, Baerum 2006, Gallery III, Oslo 2001). Has participated in many group exhibitions and festivals. Repeatedly awarded the Compensation Fund Scholarship as well as the Government exhibition scholarship. Her works can be found in many collections, such as, eg, the Olimpic Game Collection, the Norwegian Cultural Council and the Akershus Art Centre (Lillestrom). She lives and works in Heggedal, Norway.
